Breast Augmentation – FORGET CUP SIZE

Breast Augmentation Dubai | 22 July 2018

You might not want to hear this but I am going to tell you anyway: you need to forget thinking about cup size. Women tend to think in cup sizes because that is how they buy bras. The most common comment I hear is, “I’d like to be a C-cup”. When I hear that I translate it to mean, “She wants her breasts to look like they fit the rest of her body.” This is because cup size for patients having breast augmentation is a very subjective measurement. Everyone wears their bras differently and every bra manufacturer makes them differently. You may be a 36C in one bra and a 34D in another. And when you check out all the different styles at your local Victoria’s Secret, you can understand why I say think proportion and shape, not cup size!

breast augmentation basics

There are lots of reasons why women consider having breast augmentation surgery. Many tell me they just want to be able to buy a bathing suit that fits! Despite some Hollywood stereotypes, the majority of women increase from one to two cup sizes to obtain that flattering figure they always wanted. Some come to me after they have had children and lost their breast size after breast-feeding. Others need to have a breast lift along with the enlargement. Breast augmentation is one of the fastest growing plastic surgery procedures. I suspect it’s growing because of the great results and the quick recovery time. A recent study revealed that 96% of women who had a breast enlargement surgery were either “satisfied” or “highly satisfied” with their results.

There are several reasons you might consider breast augmentation surgery

15 July 2018

Breast augmentation has long been one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the world. Women of many ages seek out breast augmentation to boost their cup size. There are several reasons you might consider breast augmentation surgery:

– You have breast asymmetry.

– You feel unhappy with the size and/or shape of your breasts.

– You wish to correct loss of volume or other changes due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss or natural aging.

– You would like a more proportionate shape.

– You want to feel sexier and more feminine.

– You’re including breast enhancement as part of a mommy makeover.

No matter your reasons, it’s important to do your research before going forward with a breast augmentation.

One of the most important – and perhaps least talked about – breast augmentation tips is to keep in mind that it takes a while to see your final results. Your breasts will probably not look much like you expected them to at first. It’s not uncommon for new breast implants to sit very high on the chest and look unnatural. Further, it can take 3 to 6 months for the implants to “drop and fluff” – or soften and settle into a more natural position on your chest.

Breast Augmentation Recovery

Breast Augmentation Dubai | 11 July 2018

Immediate Recovery
After your procedure, your chest will feel tight and your breasts and ribs below your breasts will be tender. You should be mobile from day one and we advise that you take 7 days off work. In consultation, I usually do not advise that women drive for 2 weeks or undertake strenuous activity, exercise and heavy lifting for approximately 6 weeks.

Bruising
At first, your breasts may look too high and the skin appears tight. This tends to settle down and a natural shape emerges over the first 6 weeks. It is very important that you attend all your breast augmentation post-op appointments so a nurse can check that you are healing well. They will give you advice on how to ensure you have the best opportunity to achieve the result desired by you.

A little discomfort
Every woman’s breast augmentation recovery time is different. In general, you will probably feel a little sore but this will subside after 1-2 weeks. You will be prescribed with analgesia to make your recovery more comfortable.

Shaped Gummy Bear Implant Sizing

2 July 2018

Cohesive, gummy bear, breast implants come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The concepts for sizing shaped implants are the same as those for round implants. Breast width is still a critical measurement. But, the difference with shaped implant is that another key dimension is fitted- the height of the breast. Therefore, women with short breasts may find that a low height implant fits the best. Those that desire extra fullness at the top of the breast will choose a tall height implant. For many, a medium height implant will be the best choice.

LIFE AFTER BREAST AUGMENTATION

28 June 2018

The results of a breast augmentation procedure are typically long-lasting. Breast implants often “last” as long as 10 years (this number is variable and can be larger or smaller) but can vary depending on the patient, type, size and shape, among other factors. Patients often elect to undergo second or even third breast augmentation procedure as they naturally age to maintain their aesthetic profile.

Patients cite this procedure as a great confidence booster, especially when patients are good candidates and maintain reasonable expectations for what breast augmentations can achieve. Asking the right questions and performing your due diligence before your procedure can go a long way to help provide a wonderful experience and ultimately reach your aesthetic goals.

NATURAL LOOK AND ACTIVE LIFESTYLE

25 June 2018

Today, a greater number of women wish to balance having a voluptuous figure with other considerations. While women are still undergoing breast augmentation in droves, I have noticed a strong focus on keeping healthy and active, too. As such, many women choose more modest implants so as not to impair their ability to exercise. While it’s possible to stay in shape after having large implants inserted, there’s no arguing the fact that heavy breasts make high-impact exercise more challenging.

Breast augmentation has always been popular, and most cosmetic surgeons foresee little change in this area, regardless of society’s shifting preferences. Women will always want to increase their self-confidence, improve their figures and proportions, and boost their body image.

LESS IS MORE

23 June 2018

Some patients that do not listen to their cosmetic surgeon’s breast augmentation advice and opt for larger breast implants even when their frames or existing breast tissue simply won’t accommodate them can result in stretched skin and unnatural-looking implants that patients end up disliking and having removed. To save time, hassle, and expense, we recommend that you adhere to your surgeon’s recommendations. Remember that you can always choose to upgrade to larger implants during a later revision, without stretching your skin or enduring unnatural-looking implants in the interim.

COMBINATION OF LIFT AND BREAST AUGMENTATION IS JUST AS SAFE AS SINGLE SURGERY

21 June 2018

No surgery is without risk. With that being said, however, combining breast augmentation with a breast lift can be as safe as a single-procedure surgery. In addition to being able to address the various aesthetic issues, augmentation-mastopexy surgery offers a number of unique benefits. There are many reasons, both cosmetic and reconstructive, to combine these breast surgeries:

– There is less scarring

– There is less removal of skin

– The implant helps fill out the breast and improves its overall appearance so that less lifting is needed

– Combining surgeries is less expensive than having both surgeries separately

– Combining surgeries can reduce overall recovery time

Risk levels are similar whether procedures are done alone or combined and most patients prefer to have just one surgical procedure wherever possible. After all, each individual surgery carries with it a certain amount of inconvenience: Patients must book time off work, secure a caregiver to help them in the initial stages of recovery, and (if they have children) find someone to help out with childcare duties. Doing all of these things twice rather than once not only represents additional hassle, it also typically results in a number of additional expenses.

FAT TRANSFER BREAST AUGMENTATION

16 June 2018

If you have ever heard someone jokingly say they wish they could take the excess fat around their waist and send it to their breasts, we have some good news for you: This is actually possible thanks to a procedure called “fat transfer breast augmentation.”

This surgery includes harvesting fat through liposuction from one part of the body (the thighs, arms, love handles, or back) and injecting it into the breasts. This process is ideal for patients who desire only a modest increase in breast size. It can help smooth out irregularities, improve breast contour, and increase the size of your breasts using your own natural fat cells. Additionally, instead of having a revision surgery that replaces implants, a fat transfer allows patients with existing implants to further increase their breast size. You might say it’s “augmentation light,” but it’s breast augmentation nonetheless. However, it’s important to note that although a surgeon may only use local anesthesia to perform fat transfer to the breasts, it is still a surgical procedure. While the recovery from fat grafting usually takes only three to five days and involves minimal soreness and swelling, it’s still very important to follow your surgeon’s instructions for safe healing.

Fat transfer procedures are popular because they essentially kill two birds with one stone. Removing fat from an area with excess fat ultimately contours and shapes the body, allowing the patient to define their figure. Meanwhile, that fat can be reused to create a completely natural looking (and feeling) enhancement to the breasts. This idea gives many women greater peace of mind. After all, there is no risk of allergic reaction, rupture, or implant rejection with fat grafting.
