TOP 5 SKIN BOOSTER TREATMENTS

Plastic Surgery Dubai | 30 March 2024

Skin boosters are non-invasive treatments that hydrate, smooth, and enhance the skin’s overall texture and elasticity for a more youthful and radiant appearance. Here are Dr. Vigo’s top 5 skin booster treatments:

1. BOTOX
You may have heard of anti-wrinkle treatments, such as Botox, in movies, on television and in the news. Botulinum Toxin has been around for decades and continues to be one of the more popular ways to tackle the signs of ageing. Due to its excellent anti-wrinkle properties, Botulinum Toxin is exceptional at reducing the visible appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Even wrinkles that have developed over time can be addressed quite simply with a few injectable treatments using this solution.

Following an injection of Botox into the treated area, the substance actively blocks the nerve signals to your muscle. By blocking the nerve signal, the muscle is encouraged to relax and not tense up in its usual activity, thus creating and developing wrinkles. Without a signal, the muscle is not able to contract.

The result for patients is a smoother look and a reduced appearance of your wrinkles. In some cases, they become so hidden that it is impossible to tell they were there.

2. PROFHILO
Profhilo is a revolutionary aesthetic treatment that has gained significant popularity in recent years. It is a unique injectable designed to counteract the effects of skin ageing and rejuvenate the skin’s overall appearance. Profhilo is composed of a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body responsible for maintaining skin hydration and elasticity.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Profhilo works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins that keep the skin firm and youthful. By delivering hyaluronic acid to the deeper layers of the skin, Profhilo effectively improves skin texture, tightness, and hydration. The treatment involves a series of precise injections into specific areas of the face or body, resulting in smoother, plumper, and more radiant skin.

Profhilo spreads evenly beneath the skin to boost hydration and stimulate collagen and elastin production throughout the treated area. This comprehensive approach results in overall skin improvement and a more natural-looking outcome.

Profhilo treatments are minimally invasive, making them an attractive option for individuals seeking non-surgical rejuvenation. The treatment involves a series of small injections administered in specific points on the face or body, making it relatively quick and comfortable for patients.
Profhilo treatments offer long-lasting results compared to some other non-surgical treatments. The dual action of stimulating collagen and elastin production helps to improve skin quality and tightness, providing gradual and natural-looking results that can last up to six months. Regular maintenance treatments can further extend the benefits, helping patients maintain a youthful appearance over time.

3. HYDRAFACIAL
The Hydrafacial is a highly-effective, non-invasive treatment which benefits a range of skin conditions. There are many benefits to getting a HydraFacial, including:

– improved skin texture and tone
– reduced wrinkles and fine lines
– reduced pore size
– reduced sun damage
– reduced acne scars
– evened out skin tone

Hydrafacials are a painless treatment, meaning you can sit back and relax comfortably. For those with more sensitive skin, the treatment can be varied to suit your comfort levels to make the procedure less abrasive.

4. ENDYMED
ENDYMED is a combination of powerful technologies, offering bespoke skin resurfacing treatments, depending on your individual requirements.

ENDYMED is an advanced radiofrequency treatment for firmer, tighter skin with more definition and youthful luminosity. ENDYMED utilises powerful radiofrequency collagen remodelling and rebuilding by creating controlled, therapeutic heating of the deeper layers of the skin. This in-turn encourages the skin’s natural healing process, boosting collagen production and improving the skin’s underlying structure.

ENDYMED can be used on areas such as the cheeks, neck, jawline, and around the eyes, for the perfect non-surgical facelift.

5. MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling is a popular treatment known as collagen induction therapy. It involves super-fine needles that are applied with an electric device or traditional by a hand rolling device called a dermaroller. The needles can be set at differing depths to penetrate the upper layers of the skin, creating tiny wounds.

These wounds signal to the body that it’s time to heal: causing it to produce collagen and elastin fibres. Collagen gives our skin its strength and elasticity; elastin gives skin its remarkable ability to “bounce back” when pinched or pulled. Both of these can diminish as we age.

Microneedling spurs production of these key elements, promoting fuller, younger-looking skin.

Skin booster treatemnts provide a myriad of benefits that can considerably enhance your skin’s health and overall appearance:

Enhanced Skin Hydration
One of the most notable benefits of skin booster injections is the significant boost in skin hydration with potent hydrating and moisturising properties that help keep your skin looking fresh and vibrant.

Improved Skin Quality
Skin booster treatments can significantly improve the texture, firmness, and elasticity of your skin. As a result, your skin feels softer to the touch, appears more toned and firm, and has a more youthful bounce.

Reduced Appearance of Crepey Skin
Skin boosters can help reduce the appearance of crepey skin, which is thin and finely wrinkled skin that resembles crepe paper. By improving skin hydration and elasticity, these injections can help make your skin appear plumper and smoother.

Reduced Appearance of Fine Lines
The hydrating properties of skin boosters can also help lessen the visibility of fine lines. By plumping up the skin, these injections can smooth out these lines, helping to give your skin a more youthful appearance.

Diminished Appearance of Acne Scarring
Skin booster injections can also help to lessen the appearance of acne scarring. By improving the texture and quality of your skin, these treatments can help to even out any irregularities caused by acne scars.

Improvement of Skin Imperfections
Skin boosters can also be beneficial for improving various skin imperfections. Whether it’s an uneven skin texture, slight discolouration, or early signs of ageing, these injections can help to improve these issues.

Even Skin Texture
Lastly, skin booster injections can help to even out your skin’s texture. This can make your skin feel smoother to the touch and give it a more uniform appearance, contributing to a more radiant complexion.

LIP ENHANCEMENTS: LIP LIFTING & LIP FILLERS

Plastic Surgery Dubai | 27 March 2024

You’ve likely already heard of lip injections, sometimes called lip fillers. These procedures give that bee-stung look to the lips. There’s another surgical procedure known as a lip lift that can give you a different kind of pout. Unlike lip fillers, it’s permanent.

LIP LIFT
A lip lift is an in-office surgical procedure that shortens the space between the nose and the top of the lip, known as the “philtrum.” The procedure increases the amount of pink tissue that’s visible which makes the lips look fuller and more pronounced. It also increases how much of your upper central teeth show when your lips are resting. It’s a good option for people who want to add height instead of volume to their lips.

Types of lip lifts
There are several types of lip lifts. It’s important to know the types and techniques so you can have an informed discussion with your surgeon about which is right for you.

Direct lip lift
A direct lip lift, sometimes called a gullwing lip lift, creates a more defined lip border. A thin strip of skin is removed just above the upper lip, and the skin is pulled upwards, creating the illusion of a more pronounced vermillion (the pink part of the lips). This procedure typically leaves behind a scar on the upper lip area.

Subnasal bullhorn
The subnasal bullhorn is one of the more common lip lift procedures. Dr. Vigo will make an incision that’s typically hidden along the base of the nose where it’s less visible. The incision is often made in the shape of a bullhorn and the center, right, and left of the lip are all pulled up toward the nose.
Central lip lift
A central lip lift is similar to a subnasal bullhorn lift. It shortens the space between the nose and the lips by an incision at the lower nose.

Corner lip lift
A corner lip lift is sometimes called a “grin lift” because it gives the face a more smiley appearance. It’s done by making two small incisions at both corners of the mouth and removing a small amount of skin. Some people will get this in tandem with another lip lift to give fuller lips. It’s an option for people who feel they have downturned lips.

Italian lip lift
An Italian lip lift requires two incisions below each nostril, and other than that detail, it’s very similar to the bullhorn. It typically doesn’t involve a noticeable scar.

A lip lift can be a good option for older people who want to reduce the space between the lips and the nose. With age, this space typically increases and can make lips look thinner. Younger people who haven’t achieved the look they want from fillers, or if they find that fillers make their lips look unnaturally plump or duck-like, may prefer a lip lift. Lip lifts are also a permanent solution, so they can be helpful for people who are tired of the upkeep of filler.

LIP FILLERS
The objective in treating the upper lip is to artistically create a form that harmonizes with the patient’s unique facial features and takes into account the age and ethnic background of the patient. The goal in treating the lower lip is to create bulk and greater prominence and artistic projection of the vermilion. The physician must establish appropriate guidelines and patient expectations for augmentation relative to normal lip proportions in order to avoid a cartoon-like appearance.

Any physician performing lip augmentation should recognize that temporary fillers can cause permanent stimulatory effects in tissues. After 2 or 3 sessions of lip augmentation, full correction may be obtained and persist indefinitely. Patients may return for additional filler merely because a certain amount of time has elapsed since their last injection, but the physician must evaluate the proportions of the lips to truly determine if additional filler is warranted. It is helpful to have a hand mirror for the patient to observe her lip proportions as the doctor seeks to determine whether more filler is needed. It is also beneficial to show the patient her lips from the lateral view; digital photography is extremely useful in this regard.

THE PROCEDURE
It’s important to see your box of injectables opened in front of you and to be sure only your dermatologist or plastic surgeon is doing the injections. Avoid blood thinners, like aspirin and fish oil, for at least a day beforehand, which can increase bruising. If you opt for numbing cream, expect it to be placed on the lips for approximately 10 minutes. The lips absorb quickly and do not require lengthy topical anaesthesia. Then, the skin surface should be cleansed properly and then injections are performed. Your doctor should go very slowly, often pausing to show you the progress that he or she is making. There is a real balance and art to it, I find that you really need to go little by little, so you normally inject the top lip first, balance it out on the other side, then inject the bottom lip. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes. What you see is what you get, you’re not waiting for it to work, like Botox.

Some doctors will gently mould the filler with their fingers after it is injected by squeezing and patting it into place, while others aim to inject it exactly where they want it and avoid moulding, since it can increase bruising and swelling. Based on my extensive experience, there is no single stance on moulding – it’s a technique that some like, while others do it sparingly. Your doctor should let you chime in along the way and help decide whether or not to add more or stop. I even recommend my patients go lighter than they think they may want, live with it for a week, and then decide whether or not to do more. “It’s best to start with baby steps.

After the injections, ice packs are applied. That evening, I suggest patients sleep on two pillows to decrease swelling. Use ice sparingly at home (getting the H.A. too cold or hot can prevent it from settling properly) and ask your doctor if additional anti-swelling measures are right for you, like oral antihistamines, pain relievers, or topical corticosteroids.

It’s no secret that some lip augmentations look incredibly natural and some look not so incredibly natural. This is partially because of the size that you and your doctor select, but it goes deeper than that. The fact of the matter is that some doctors have a better feel for nuance and aesthetics than others. It’s something you have to have an appreciation for, to get the proportions right for each person. There is a lot more artistry to injecting lips than just injecting a wrinkle or a line. That is another reason why the consultation is so important. I show actual before and afters of my patients, so that everyone has a realistic expectation for the type of filler I do.

Selecting where, and at what volume, to inject the lips is also an important decision to make in the consultation. The lips are supposed to be filled in a natural ratio, where the upper lip is approximately 2/3 the size of the lower lip.

That means that sometimes, only one lip needs to be filled, sometimes both, and often at different volumes, since not everyone’s pout is symmetrical. Where to inject is also a delicate matter. The lips can be injected into the skin surrounding the lips (to define the Cupid’s bow, for example), into the lips (for fullness), and into the lipline (for definition). It’s like sculpting.

Creating Philtrum Columns
Sculpted philtrum columns are in style today. As we age, these well-defined longitudinal pillars are lost, leading to a flattened, ill-defined, unattractive upper lip. If the patient still has discernible philtrum columns, the object is to further enhance them. If the philtrum columns have been completely effaced, it is imperative to re-create them. This is accomplished by superficial vertical injection of filler into each philtrum column. It is important to realize that the philtrum columns are not parallel to each other, but rather they form an inverted “V” that narrows as it approaches the nostril sills and columella of the nose.

Creating Cupid’s Bow
The pouty, Cupid’s bow appearance of the central portion of the upper lip is considered sexy, desirable, and very much in fashion today.

Creating Lower Lip “Pillows” or Tubercles on Each Side of the Midline
Here I ask the patient to evert the lower lip. I deposit approximately ~0.1 cc of filler as a depot injection into the orbicularis oris muscle at the vermilion-mucosal junction on each side of the midline. The depot injection is about one third of the distance from the midline to the oral commissure. This is gently massaged to prevent superficial lumpiness.

Supporting or Bolstering the Oral Commissures
Placing a small amount of filler in the most lateral aspect of the cutaneous lower lip so as to provide upward support to the commissures. Injectable neuromodulating agents (botulinum toxin A) placed into the depressor anguli oris muscles can be used as an adjunct to further elevate the commissures. This combines structural support with chemical neuromodulation to shape the oral commissures.

Filling the Nasolabial Creases
Placing a small amount of filler in the upper portion of the nasolabial crease helps to evert the upper lip. Augmentation lateral to the nasolabial crease only serves to deepen the appearance of the crease.

POST-INJECTION CARE
Cool compresses and ice packs can be used to minimize swelling and bruising. Patients should be advised to avoid ASA, NSAIDs, and other medications associated with an increased risk of bleeding. If anti-HSV I medication was prescribed, it should be continued according to physician recommendation. Because HAs are hydrophilic, they attract water from the surrounding tissues and further augment the soft tissue volume beyond that expected from mere implantation. The significant swelling of the vermilion in the immediate post-operative period may be camouflaged by applying flesh-toned foundation or concealer to the entire vermilion. Lipstick can then be applied to a smaller portion of the vermilion than usual so as to not exaggerate the swelling that may be present.

SELECTING THE RIGHT FILLER
There are a lot of difficult decisions you have to make when it comes to getting lip injections, but fortunately, picking the right filler isn’t one of them. Hyaluronic acid, in a few different forms, is both the industry standard for temporary lip injections and the only temporary lip filler approved by the FDA.

They’re marketed under different brand names – Restylane Kisse, Neauvia Lips, Juvederm Volbella – but they’re all made from the same molecule, which is hyaluronic acid, as you may already know, naturally occurs in skin and is a top ingredient in hydrating skin-care products, since it plumps skin by capturing and holding onto water. Picking which of the formulas is best for you is really up to your doctor. Hyaluronic acid is not only the best option, but the only option for those new to the world of injections, since it will dissolve on its own and is well-tolerated, since it’s already in your body. There are irreversible fillers and implants, but those are not for beginners.

PAIN MANAGEMENT
Lips are one of the more uncomfortable places to inject filler. We have a lot of nerves in our lips, so I can do a combination of topical numbing cream and, sometimes, injectable numbing medications, so patients are comfortable. However, many of the H.A. injectables come with lidocaine (a numbing pain reliever) built right in, so some doctors opt out of additional measures.
One, or a combination of the above pain-reducing options, will normally temper the pain of the actual procedure, but you’re likely to experience pain later, since the skin is being stretched. The pain as mild to moderate and notes that it can last for a few days.

SIDE EFFECTS
Any time there is a needle crossing the skin, there is a risk. Bruising, swelling, and pain – all of which can last up to days and in rare cases, even weeks – may occur. There is also the risk of infection. Naturally, this makes it very important to check in with your doctor post-treatment, especially if you’re feeling nervous about side effects.

While hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your body, you can still have an allergic reaction to H.A. injectables, since there are often inactive ingredients (like carrying agents) and pain-reducing ingredients (like lidocaine) in the formula. Those prone to allergies or are just plain nervous can do a patch test on their forearm a few days before the procedure to be sure they won’t have an adverse reaction.

Injecting the lips can prompt cold sores for those who are prone to them, so he normally pretreats those patients with a round of anti-viral medication, like Valtrex.

There are also less common side effects that are important to consider. More rare side effects include nodules or palpable material within the lips – basically bumps of H.A. that don’t settle or feel natural. Extremely rarely, lip filler can be introduced into a blood vessel in the lip, which can have more significant consequences if not dealt with immediately and appropriately.

WHAT TO EXPECT
One of the great things about lip injections is that the results are instantaneous, so you’ll leave the office with fairly accurate (albeit swollen) results. For the first 24 to 48 hours, the filler is malleable and your skin is prone to swelling, which means be gentle! This is noted as the time that your injections need to “settle.” No facials, yoga, or exercise is recommended, which can alter the placement of the filler and increase swelling and bruising.

Lips often swell for one to three days after treatment, but this is highly variable and some patients will experience no swelling and some will have more dramatic swelling that will take longer to subside. Bruising can last approximately one week, but can be covered with makeup or lipstick, as needed. Some doctors will offer to treat more significant bruising with a laser treatment if necessary.

While the average length of time H.A. fillers will last is about six months, it varies for everyone, from around three months to a year. H.A. lasts different lengths, depending on where you put it and how active that body part is. I find that if the labelling says six to 12 months, patients normally come back every three to six months.

BREAST AUGMENTATION: KNOW THE BENEFITS

Plastic Surgery Dubai | 24 March 2024

Breast augmentation using breast implants is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures in the UAE. And it’s no wonder why. Breast implants have numerous physical and mental benefits for women, making them well worth the investment of time and money.

If you are considering breast implants, you should know about these top benefits:

Higher Self-Esteem
After having breast implant surgery, the majority of women say they feel more confident in themselves. Nine out of ten women who underwent the operation said they felt more confident about themselves in a poll.

Enhanced self-worth can yield more substantial and enduring advantages. You could be prepared to ask someone out or go for that promotion when your self-esteem is better. Your connections and relationships may feel better as a result. You may enjoy your life as well, once you truly love yourself.

Long-Lasting Results
How long do breast implants last? Years and years. No matter what type of breast implant you choose, you can expect to enjoy your new appearance without any issues for 10 to 20 years. The recovery time for breast implants is only about 4 weeks, so you’ll be able to see and enjoy your results fast.

Improved Breast Symmetry
Many women have breasts that aren’t symmetrical. One may be larger than the other. Nipples might point in different directions or be of different sizes. One breast may hang higher or lower than the other.

When you undergo breast implant surgery, you can address all of these issues and get truly symmetrical breasts and nipples.

Better Looking Breasts After Pregnancy
Whether or not you choose to breastfeed, your breasts can look very different after pregnancy. Breasts swell when you are pregnant and postpartum. But when it’s all over, they may sag or look empty. You may have lost volume but have plenty of extra tissue. Multiple pregnancies can have even worse effects on your breast appearance.

Implant surgery can fill in missing volume after pregnancy, helping your breasts look full again. It can also help them look higher if they have sunk a little low.

More Attractive Cleavage
Many women want beautiful cleavage to show off, but find they are revealing more sternum than breasts. A breast augmentation can help you create the cleavage you’ve wanted. Dr. Vigo can place breast implants in a specific place to help your cleavage stand out. The increased volume from breast implants can also improve cleavage.

New Wardrobe Options
New breasts mean a new shape and a new way to wear clothes. You might find your old clothes don’t look the same, but that you can wear new necklines and new styles you couldn’t before. You might enjoy a deeper V-neck or an elegant scoop neck. You might want a fit and flare dress to balance out your new shape. Breast implant surgery opens up new ways to show off your body.

A Younger-Looking Appearance
As we age, breasts can sag and lose volume. This happens to every woman, so low-hanging or flat breasts have become associated with aging. But breast augmentation surgery can fix both of these issues. When your breasts look fuller and higher, it’ll make your entire appearance change. It can make you look younger and even like you have better posture.

Improved Confidence
The majority of women who undergo breast implant surgery report feeling more confident in themselves. And confidence is good for your health. Poor confidence and self-esteem have been linked to poor health. When you feel great about your body, you take better care of your body and enjoy better overall health.

Larger Breasts
Though it sounds obvious, larger breasts are a huge benefit for many women who undergo breast augmentation. Women with very small breasts (called micromastia) see the greatest benefit from increasing their chest size with implants.

Whether it’s due to pregnancy, weight loss, or aging, many women are looking for ways to improve the size and shape of their breasts. Depending on your aesthetic concerns, Dr. Vigo offers a range of breast surgery procedures, including breast augmentation, breast mastopexy, and breast lifts, to address a number of concerns, including breasts that are:

– too small
– disproportionately large
– asymmetrical
– sagging
– misshapen

If you’re curious about the additional benefits from receiving a breast augmentation, or you want to know which breast surgery will best meet your aesthetic needs, Dr. Vigo can help you.

A portion of the progressions a woman might encounter are a direct result of hormonal changes, which can prompt expanded hunger and weight gain. When the child is conceived, a lady might find that her body clutches the overabundance fat acquired while pregnant as well as the overabundance skin brought about by the extending of the stomach wall. This can leave the stomach feeling delicate and without muscle definition. While some free skin will recover its versatility, numerous ladies battle to get back their pre-pregnancy shape, particularly when they have another child assumes need over weight reduction.

A ‘mummy makeover’ is a mix of medical procedures including the bosom, midsection, midriff, hips and thighs intended to reestablish the body to its unique forms and appearance preceding childbearing.
The strategies commonly involved are a bosom expansion and bosom lift, a stomach fold and liposuction. These can be joined into a solitary surgery.

One justification for its fame is that the mom makeover has no set parts; every system is exceptionally customized to fit the singular patient’s special necessities. Nonetheless, the careful methodology by and large beginnings with a bosom and midsection shaping technique, then, at that point, adding extra components on a case by case basis.

As the bosoms and midsection are the essential areas of progress with parenthood, a mama makeover will frequently revolve around a bosom and mid-region methodology. During pregnancy and bosom taking care of, the bosoms will likewise broaden, expanding however much a full cup size or more. Be that as it may, getting once again to ‘typical’ can mean a critical misfortune in bosom volume and recognizable listing. All through a pregnancy, the abs, skin and tissues stretch to oblige the developing child securely. Tragically, after labor, these layers may not return to their rigid, pre-child shape.

Contingent upon the suggested set of strategies, a mama makeover can be performed during one single activity, or for wellbeing reasons, might be fanned out over various careful meetings.

Joining different medical procedures into one methodology can make recuperation time longer when contrasted with a solitary medical procedure. This recuperation time is still a lot more limited than recuperating from every individual medical procedure independently.

The more obtrusive the medical procedure is the additional time is expected for mending. How much time it will take to recuperate will fluctuate from one patient to another and what treatments were included for their makeover.

RENUVION J-PLASMA FOR SCULPTING

Plastic Surgery Dubai | 15 March 2024

Renuvion® (sometimes known as J-Plasma®) is a medical procedure that combines helium plasma and radiofrequency (RF) energy, to stimulate tissue shrinking, tightening and contraction by carefully heating connective tissues directly beneath the skin. The helium plasma and RF energy are emitted simultaneously through a slender hand-held wand to
provide an even application. The technique provides a dramatic yet gentle effect on tissue. The areas most commonly treated by Renuvion® are the chin, neck, arms, breasts, chest, abdomen, inner thighs, lower thighs and knees.

TREATMENT AREAS
– Face
– Jawline
– Neck
– Chin
– Abdomen
– Back and Bra Line
– Breasts
– Arms
– Thighs
– Lower Legs
– Knees

BENEFITS OF RENUVION
– Effective Skin Tightening
– Collagen Regeneration
– Improved Skin Texture
– Wrinkle Reduction
– Minimally Invasive Treatment
– Long-Lasting Results

Renuvion is a great procedure to reduce a patient’s need for surgery to tighten the skin. The skin’s elasticity reduces as we age, sometimes leaving us with looseness in unflattering areas.

If used alone, Renuvion can create subtle changes in contour and muscle definition by addressing redundant skin and folds on the body. When used in conjunction with liposuction, this procedure can effectively reduce skin folds and fine lines, as well as improving contouring results.

Compared to other skin tightening techniques, Renuvion is a one-time treatment that both immediately tightens skin and increases collagen production that can last for several months after the procedure.

FACIAL SKIN REJUVENATION
Renuvion technology is commonly used for wrinkle and fine line reduction on the face. The device works the same way, releasing helium gas and RF at the same time to create plasma and thermal heating. To treat the face, the Renuvion device can be applied in pulsed, painted, or fractionated patterns to produce minimally-invasive skin rejuvenation.

Dr. Vigo makes three small incisions beneath the chin and each ear that act as ports for the Renuvion device. If liposuction is required, it is performed before the skin tightening begins. After numbing the area, the device is inserted and meticulously positioned underneath the skin and activated. As the plasma beams come in contact with tissues, new collagen is created and the skin tightens.

IS THE PROCEDURE RIGHT FOR ME?
A detailed consultation with Dr. Vigo is essential prior to undergoing any surgical procedure. During the consultation, Dr. Vigo will discuss your area/s of concern, desired improvements, options available (including no treatment at all) and expected outcomes.

Dr. Vigo will examine you and may take some photographs for your medical records. Dr. Vigo will measure your height and weight to make sure that it is safe to do an operation. If you are overweight, or planning to become pregnant, Dr. Vigo may suggest delaying your operation.
HOW IS THE PROCEDURE CARRIED OUT?
Should Renuvion® be agreed upon as the most suitable treatment, the procedure will be carried out by Dr. Vigo in a state-of-the-art clinic. Following careful marking of the treatment area/s and the administration of an appropriate anaesthetic, Dr. Vigo places the Renuvion® disposable probe into the tissue through tiny incisions. Helium plasma and radio frequency energy are released with precision into the tissue to stimulate the shrinking effect.

The edges of the incisions are closed with dissolvable stitches and very light dressings are applied. The surgery is usually performed as a day case under a general anaesthetic.

RESULTS
The procedure results in a contraction of the soft tissue that is often noticeable immediately after the procedure. The results will continue to improve over the next 6-9 months as the body goes through the healing process. Over time, post-surgical swelling will subside and incision lines will fade.

Satisfaction with your new image should continue to grow as you fully recover from surgery. In order to achieve optimal results it is important that you follow Dr. Vigo’s post- operative instructions and follow-up visits.

RIGENERA™ FOR HAIRLOSS

Plastic Surgery Dubai | 13 March 2024

Close to 70% of men and 40% of women face androgenetic alopecia, a hair loss issue, at one point in their lives. Rigenera therapy is an innovative treatment procedure that regenerates hair, stimulates hair growth, and creates stronger hair by using the patient’s own stem cells.

For the treatment of early-stage balding, Dr. Vigo uses the Rigenera therapy, a procedure developed specifically for the treatment of androgenic alopecia, which mainly affects men. Baldness among men usually begins in the two front-side “triangles” and follows a characteristic pattern. The therapy can be used alone, or as a complementary therapy for hair transplantation. Rigenera is a cutting edge and one of a kind technology that can provide a quick and effective method of regenerating bio-tissues. Its purpose is to stimulate the growth of hair, thicken hair, reduce hair loss and boost the regenerative process.

This treatment is used primarily in people in the earlier stages of balding (male pattern hair loss and female pattern hair loss).

The concept is similar to PRP except that that growth factors are from the scalp rather than the blood, so they are more specific. It is a good option to consider if PRP has not worked.

Just like PRP, the procedure injecting the growth factors into the skin of the scalp. There are no chemical, no enzymes – just mechanical disaggregation. It is a procedure that takes around 30 minutes in a single session. The Rigenera device is a patented medical device which is CE Marked.

RIGENERA – THE MOST EFFECTIVE IN TREATING BALDNESS
– It stops hair loss through the natural regeneration process of cells.
– It does not contain any foreign matter.
– There is no risk of infection
– It immediately begins to have its beneficial effect.
– We can reach long-term results by applying it.
– It can reverse the aging process of hairs.

Currently it is a unique procedure worldwide, as there are no other similarly hair-specific, authorised and safe procedures in practice.

HOW IS BALDING TREATED WITH THE RIGENERA THERAPY?
The Rigenera therapy has three steps, which can be performed in our clinic in just 30-45 minutes.

Step 1: Dr. Vigo applies local anesthesia on the nape area behind the ears, on an approximately 1,5-2 cm2 surface (where the healthy hair follicles and cells are). By the help of a 2,5 mm biopsy needle he extracts 3 skin specimens. The sampling is absolutely painless.
Step 2: the collected samples are then being subjected to mechanical preparation after they are filtered, to separate the progenitor cells, the undifferentiated cells and the growth factor-cytokine cocktail, each of which has the ability to regenerate.

Step 3: the solution is then returned with fine needles, to the scalp’s area where the specific hair regenerating treatment is required. The growth process is started by a single treatment, by which Dr. Vigo stimulates the formation of new skin vessels, so that the hair follicles’ regeneration process begins.

WHEN ARE THE RESULTS EXPECTED?
The Rigenera therapy is a regeneration therapy, therefore the answer is less accurate than in the case of a hair transplantation. The results’ development depends on the patient’s own biology: the dynamics of hair loss, the extension of the area involved, age and genetic factors may also have an effect on the thinned area’s regeneration, the thinning hairs’ strengthening and the hairs’ regrowth.

Microscopic examinations can usually detect the appearance of miniaturised hairs within just a month. Usually from the sixth month a strong improvement can be experienced in the hair’s quality, thickness and density.

The treatment helps to restore the normal physiological cycle of hair follicle units. As a first sign, the slowdown of hair loss can be expected, followed by the improvement of density and thickness of the hair. New hair growth can be observed in the second phase of regeneration, which means in the following 6 months.

RENUVA: TREATMENT TO RESTORE AGE RELATED VOLUME LOSS

Plastic Surgery Dubai | 6 March 2024

Renuva is the first and only off-the-shelf solution that replaces age-related volume loss with the body’s very own fat. Over time, Renuva is replaced with your body’s own fat – leaving you with lasting, age-defying results – for a look that’s still you, only better!

Renuva is only in the hands of elite medical aesthetic injectors.

WHERE CAN RENUVA BE USED?

FACE
Renuva restores lost volume in the cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds and other areas of the face, leaving you with age-defying, lasting results.

NECK & CHEST
Renuva helps smooth and tighten neck skin. The treatment also replaces age-related fat loss on the décolletage, erasing vertical lines and smoothing the skin.

HANDS
Renuva replenishes age-related fat loss in the hands, reducing the appearance of veins, bones and loose skin.

BODY
Renuva can be used anywhere fat naturally exists in the body to volumize hip-dips, erase cellulite dimples, smooth liposuction irregularities, flatten depressed scars, and more.

CONTOURING
Renuva is ideal for contouring body areas that don’t respond to exercise – like small contour deficiencies in the buttocks and indentations on the sides of the body, called hip dips.

BREAST
Renuva can be used to camouflage breast implant irregularities, like rippling, squaring off, or indentations without the need for liposuction or surgery.

HOW RENUVA® WORKS

Renuva® is an adipose allograft matrix composed of collagen, proteins, and growth factors derived from donated and purified fat. Think of it as a scaffolding that triggers your body’s fat production. After it’s injected, your stem cells divide and grow into new fat cells that populate the new collagen matrix that it creates – in other words, the solution gets replaced over time with your own fat.

In addition to resulting in less post-injection swelling, the technology purportedly eliminates that uncanny effect that can happen when filler sits awkwardly on top of moving facial muscles. The new volume is living cells in the anatomical layer it belongs in. Because of that it will look and animate naturally. What’s more, those new fat cells can live for at least 10 years, if not longer.

In line with injectables like Ellansé®, Radisse®, and Sculptra® (all of which trigger the body to boost its collagen production), Renuva® is one more piece of an industry-wide shift. The thinking behind these treatments is to enhance the body’s own reparative abilities. It overlaps with general healing as well as anti-aging and longevity – essentially the doorway to the fountain of youth.

Similar to the recent positioning of certain neurotoxins and fillers as ‘clean’ or ‘pure’ injectables, Dr. Vigo sees patient desire driving this turn. People are wanting ‘regenerative’ procedures that stimulate your own body to improve over time. They like the idea of more ‘natural’ and less ‘synthetic’ injectables.

WHAT RENUVA® IS BEST FOR
The treatment works in areas of the face that naturally have fat cells, including the temples, nasolabial folds, chin, jawline, and cheeks. It can also be used on the hands. And that’s not all. It’s great to use post-surgical on patients with small indentations or irregularities on the body, like in the breasts or in cellulite, and those with botched liposuction procedures. It’s important to note that Renuva® is not your best option if speed is your priority. Unlike hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers that offer immediate volume, the fat-building process can take months. So, while the results are long lasting, they can take several months to show up.

Additionally, Renuva® can’t be dissolved like HA-based fillers — but the process it sets off can be halted along the way. If the volume is undesirable or if there are firm areas that the patient does not tolerate during the process of fat growth, a diluted steroid can be injected into the area to stop the function of the growth factors, as well as the proliferative phase of fat growth. While it won’t replace the instant gratification of HA-filler, Renuva® will further diversify a growing range of injectables that go beyond filling to stimulate natural volume restoration.

HOW LONG DO RENUVA IMPROVEMENTS LAST?
When injected properly, both synthetic fat grafting and autologous fat transfers offer permanent improvement in skin tone, texture, volume, and contouring. A series of treatments are often needed to adequately produce the desired textural and volume enhancements. Dr. Vigo recommends that his patients schedule Renuva treatments every 6 to 12 weeks until optimal improvement is achieved.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME FOR RENUVA?
As with any injectable treatment, there may be some sensitivity, discomfort, or redness in the treatment area, but there is minimal downtime following the procedure. Although swelling may persist for up to 2 weeks after injection, patients can resume everyday activities immediately following the treatment.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR RENUVA ADIPOSE MATRIX?
While Renuva has a wide range of applications, synthetic donor fat is primarily intended for small-volume improvements, such as atrophic scars, cellulite, and stubborn dimples. For those seeking high-volume enhancements, Dr. Vigo may propose alternative solutions, including autologous fat transfer via a Hi-Definition Liposuction procedure and/or surgical implants for significant improvement.
